Today was a slow news day. Of course its the weekend so I couldnt watch my Olbermann, Matthews, or even the verdict. So I did some surfing…looking at alot of political bullshit. And when I say “bullshit” that is exactly what it is. I used to look at politics like a place to go where people spoke intellectually about situations going on in our govt. A place where every angle of every debate held a value. Where it was hard to determine who was wrong or right because they would both bring intelligent points, to the table. A place where, trying to find the right answer was hard because of all the facts that fall into political decisions.
Now before I go on, dont get me wrong. I love how this election has engaged everyone from every economic class, every nationality, every gender, every party and even united people of opposite parties. That very unity has also brought the level of intelligence in politics, to an all time low. FOX is like Jerry Springer and CNN is like Oprah, and neither SHOULD be comparible.
Now I see so much gossip. People basing their choices on petty things like swag or gender or color. Even politicians are saying ignorant things and trying to get some news coverage. Analysts are given whey too much leeway and the news? Whats that? Does it even exist anymore? Ive learned soo much about corporate media that I didnt want to know. Kinda makes you lose hope. We really need to get back on track here. The generations before me where alot more commendable at how they handled politics…
Okay getting to my main point of discussion.
Everytime a primary is held, or everytime commentators get to talkin..it is repeatedly said that Hillary gets the uneducated vote. Now the first time I heard this I thought someone was clownin Hillary’s voters. I look at that as an insult to them, as well as, Hillary! Thats basically saying..hey you guys, your either dumb because your dumb or your dumb because your a woman voting for Hillary only cause she is a woman and that makes you dumb. and Hillary! Your choice of topic must be elementry cause you draw a dumb crowd or an ignorant woman crowd (women that stay home or have jobs where they dont have to think too hard because they didnt get past a high school education).
Hearing that in the media..I always see how they catagorize Obama supporters into colors and liberals, so I didnt take it tooo serious…assumed it was just another catagory to put people in. Another media created distraction. Then I heard Carville talk, and Begala debate Brazile…and both Begala and Carville sound pretty ignorant everytime I hear them speak. So today I went thru some places where the Clinton people hang out…found these forums..and man! They are in there and they beleive that Hillary is still going to be the president of the USA in 2009! When she tells them..”You give me your money and we can do this!!!”..they empty their pockets and break bread for her. They think its to help her become the first woman president! They are mad at OBama for being ahead, like he put guns to the voters heads or something. They continuously say he doesnt have experience, even though it has been provided to them numerous times how much he did in senate and for the community. They say he gives ideas but doesnt say how he is gonna carry them thru..but everytime he speaks he gives details. Hes been on televised interviews with details on how he will do what he says he will do. They call him a muslim and in the same sentence talk bad about his Christian Rev. Wright. They say his first name is Arabic and thats why he cant be trusted..when 1) its African and 2) You dont name yourself and 3) hes never lied about sniper fire in bosnia or any other event that gives him more “experience”. They are always refering to him as a black militant but I know they have seen the pictures of his mother and grandmother. They get mad at Michelle for saying that this is the first time she felt included in her country..as a member of the country. I FEEL HER. and its the truth..blacks have been kept segragated in a lower economic dungeon…since slaves were made free. One of the biggest blunders of our country has been how after slavery blacks were only able to survive in the poorest of lifestyles…hard to get work..hard to live..resorting to crime….getting locked up…not saying we as blacks dont have choices but its a struggle that those living nice, dont have. So yea! This is the first time alot of us have felt like what we thought, or wanted, counted for something in this country.
Anyways im gettin sleepy..but yea..Im seeing a pattern of dingbats in the Clinton camp..from her campaign employees to the people that vote for her.
Obama is talking about educating everyone…I cant wait till hes president..we need a smarter country.
